Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Bayelsa Police Command today Monday paraded a notorious cultist and killer known as Fela over his alleged involvement in the June 2016 killing of James Onuh, a Nigeria Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, in Obele, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital. Fela, the suspected killer was also indicted in another killing which took place earlier this year also in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. One source claimed Fela was lured out of hiding out by men of the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Police. ‎When contacted on the development, the spokesman of the State Police Command, Asimin Butwat, said the matter is undergoing further investigation.  "Though I can not yet confirm the details, Fela was the one who killed the Corper," the spokesman stated. It would be recalled that Mr. Onuh, a NYSC member serving with the Bayelsa State Ministry of Works, was in June killed by gunmen in Obele, Bayelsa State. An aide to the All Progressives Congress candidate in the concluded Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Elections Mr. Jonah Okah  has been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force over his status on Facebook. His crime was making comments regarding the arrest of Richie Etonye, The Chief Accountant of the Bayelsa State Government, on issues bothering on money laundering and his subsequent arrest.  Jonah,  before his arrest was an aide on social media to a past Governor of Bayelsa State Timipre Sylvia. Mr. Jonah was arrested earlier this morning at his residence in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.  As you would recall his boss,  Timipre Sylvia contested the 2016 Bayelsa governorship elections under the umbrella of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ,  but lost to his major opponent of the People's Democratic Party. Calls put to the Public Relations Officer(PPRO)  of the state was not returned nor answered as the officer was said to be in a meeting.

With the massive allocations, what else can be the reason why States cannot pay salaries? My brothers from the south should ask their leaders what they have been doing exactly with all the money allocated to them, it's their collective wealth being squandered by some useless corrupt politicians.  But the way nature will have it, they won't, due to their ethnic bigotry..... The streets of Bayelsa State got more than vehicles and pedestrians as secondary school  teachers took over major roads to press home their demands before marching to the state secretariat in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital in south-south Nigeria. They claimed that while other workers in the state have received half month payment three times, they have not received anything. The teachers also rejected government’s proposition to give them half pay for the month of August on Thursday, insisting that the government must pay them as the other workers. The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) in Bayelsa State, Mr Oyiemi Ebiredeni, said that members of the union had been battling to survive, as a result of unpaid salaries.
