The Police in Rivers State has debunked claims that it acted a script of the Presidency by blocking off the venue of the Repeat National Convention of the People's Democratic Party (PDP)  this was contained in a statement issued by the the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Francis Odesanya on Wednesday,  he denied reports that his men sealed off the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Convention in the state. The party’s National Convention billed for today at the Sharks Staduim in Port Harcourt, the state capital, was reportedly sealed-off by a team of police officers, men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC and plain cloth security personnel. The Inspector General of Police  has directed the Commissioner of Police,  FCT, Abuja to deploy mobile policemen to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja, venue of the planned protest by former bodyguards to President Muhammadu Buhari who participated during the 2015 presidential campaigns. The Spokesperson of the group of Presidential Bodyguards during the 2015 Presidential Election, Badiru Olabiyi Balogun, on Thursday gave a directive to his members to converge for a protest to the APC National Secretariat.  He further informed the media that his group will go ahead with the protest. In light of the situation playing out at the National stadium,  Port-Harcourt, Rivers State due to the scheduled Repeat National Convention,  the leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP)  have issued a statement via its Facebook page asking that it's members should hold on as they are trying to resolve the matter with the Police. The streets of Bayelsa State got more than vehicles and pedestrians as secondary school  teachers took over major roads to press home their demands before marching to the state secretariat in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital in south-south Nigeria. They claimed that while other workers in the state have received half month payment three times, they have not received anything. The teachers also rejected government’s proposition to give them half pay for the month of August on Thursday, insisting that the government must pay them as the other workers. The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) in Bayelsa State, Mr Oyiemi Ebiredeni, said that members of the union had been battling to survive, as a result of unpaid salaries. Associated Press, yesterday released a statement credited to Boko Haram alleging that dozens of the 219 Abducted Chibok Girls have been killed in the ongoing coordinated air strikes against its members,  this was contained in series of tweets sent out by Ahmad Salkida.  Recall that Ahmad Salkida was just recently declared wanted by the Nigerian Army for withholding statements concerning the whereabouts of the abducted school girls. Ahmad Salkida, a journalist with links to Boko Haram, in a series of tweets yesterday on his Tweeter Handle @ContactSalkida, confirmed watching “horrifying” images of some of the Chibok girls allegedly killed by the Nigerian military airstrikes.
